So before I get into the b-day extravagance story I'll let you in on these images I shot of my friend Ray and his store Microwave which I really am kinda obsessed with I like them so much. This day was so brutally hot(temp-wise)and Ray may or may not of had a heart condition. Some kid with poorly fitted pants came in and asked if he could trade in a pair of shoes even though he did not buy them here. WTF? who even does that. We laughed at his expense poor kid.

Now on to the events that I vaguely remember that made up my bday. Frances surprised me by taking me on the eve of my birthday to the Radisson(which i just heard is going under) Water Park which was totally totally epic and super fun the only thing was that I forgot my camera which made me sad. While swimming I was starting to feel completely old and irrelevant when a 17yr old asked for my number and told me he would "be seeing me around" I laughed and told him," I'm about to turn 24 you are too young...I cannot give you my digits homie." The kid was persistent though and I just was like, "I think it could be illegal for us to even talk." It sorta made my nite though I mean besides the heady water sliding and splashing around.  I bought my last pack of cigarettes. Got completely lifted from doing our trademark waterfalls that I passed out on the sleep number beds harshcore watching father of the bride 2.

On the actual day of my birthday however I really tried to stay relatively sober. I went to a bbq at my gma's and they had like cake and ice cream and a huge spread so The.Keeks and I ate and got our little cousins(they aren't really that little by the way) drunk on rum and coke. I got pretty tossed to the point that things started to become very hazy. I remember The.Keeks suggesting we go smoke a blunt so I believe we went to our friend Robert's to do so and watched some kind of television where I proceeded to down more rum and get belligerent I suppose. Frances informs me that I was pretty drunk and being ridic. I don't remember the conversations I had at all quite honestly by this point. I hear we went to Gisela's but I can't really recall that besides the pictures. That's really the only way i'm piecing this together. haha. I guess we drank more at Gizz's house and played with her dog and watched the Hangover because a couple days before that I had seen the Hangover 2 which was funny but not as funny as the first. We left to meet up with people at Anodyne. I vaguely remember taking a shot of Patron and having more rum and coke's I really can't remember Anodyne worth shit so...here are some shots....supposedly I got lost and The.Keeks almost left me but luckily she didn't but I did throw out all my makeup I guess and lost 20 dollars. Don't know how it all really played out but hopefully my friends still love me. Enjoy <3 J.Lightning

Basically, I did not plan on going anywhere for New Years. I was feeling really under the weather and just all in all over the whole season of thanksgiving,Christmas,new years, I dunno all of it just really starts to get to me and I had no intention of seeking out any kind of adventure whatsoever. Contrary to my plans I ended up being invited to Imbibe with my best friend of 10 Years Emily her "Man" friend had reserved a table and I was in. So off we went to Imbibe. Upon arrival we were encouraged to drink as much champagne as humanly possible and as soon as our glasses were seeing drought they brought out the Grey Goose and kept filling our champagne glasses. Double fisting champagne, greygoose and redbull; all of a sudden it was the countdown, I dunno, I wasn't too excited I had no one to kiss so I sorta was over it all at that point. I couldn't help myself. I had just drank some overthetop honesty potion so I was not filtering out much. All of sudden Em comes up and is all,"ITS TIME TO GO GIRRRRL,"


"Our Party" didn't end till about 5 in the morning we ate sammys and then passed out for a min. I made my french exit and got home around 730am. Awww what a nite.

CRUSH OF THE MONTH: September

Yea I know I haven't posted a crush in a while not since June or July I suppose. I really just have been so busy doing different things. But I feel we need a little entertainment and some crushes to crush on. I'm picking lo-fi indie king Ariel Pink, (link to his site and here's a link to his myspace.)he's super amazing, he's cute, and super into his craft which is amazingly sexy. I love Ariel Pink I think he's soo effin progressive he plays like every instrument ever and the overall production of Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti...every album..is perfect. I don't care how much you want to hate on him he's serio genius. Its like a fusion of like Velvet underground/60s cali rock and Michael Jackson sounds like it does not belong on earth. Pop Nostalgia. Makes me want to...I mean feel like i'm in a bathroom doing illicit things but hearing the sweetest muffled sounds of my life. But no samples at all. Its intergalactic,fuzzy,beautiful,intricate, meticulous, noise genius. In love HxC. Dude is hot too. I got the chance to see him a couple years back and he blew my mind like my face was melted literally I was standing with maybe 13 people watching him in over 100 degree weather. My heart skipped beats as sweat rolled down both of our faces. It was unreal. He's bizarre and completely next level mane. You can listen to his NPR interview and listen to some tunes here its approx 14 mins. He's so awesome, I mean he's just like super real and not trying to sugar coat anything. He is what he is: totally respectable.  Before Today(2010) is one of my favorite albums to come out so far lately. I'm soo into it. I can't even begin to relate it to anyone but myself. I mean I aint even gonna do a girl to crush on cuz Ariel is the only one to crush on really. So I will be listening to Worn Copy and Before Today all the rest of this month pretty much at least it will be in my list of heady listening to. The other nite TheKEEKS and I went out to the fair. It was, to say the least, interesting. Mad locs everywhere. As a matter of fact I saw this one lady cracked the eff out of her mind she looked like the living dead fo sho. It was a little frightening seeing tiny children run around her as she was in a state of psychobabble-craze. I got some dope ice cream...well it looked dope anyways...as far as tasting fly...ummmm not so much. So we ate and we walked around and got some sweet shots. I'm pumped on them actually.
